Christmas Lights Tour
The joys of following real buses through the
crowded streets of London - an RT, RM and RF negotiate the junction
into Regent Street.

Amersham
Admittedly RF486 never worked from Amersham,
but MB90 did and is seen back in its old haunts in
Beaconsfield.
Another among the 8 routes worked by 486 on the
day was the sole journey on the 455B to Wooburn
Common. This is the terminus.
Cobham National Trust Day
Framed by the National Trust's Clandon House,
RF315 was amongst the buses providing
a link between two NT properties and Cobham Bus
Museum.
Brentford Dock
The community at Brentford Dock, originally
Brunel's transfer facility between the River Thames and the Great
Western, celebrated 150 years over the weekend of 11-12 July.
On the Saturday, Cobham's STL441, itself 75 years old, ran services
to the Kew Bridge Steam Museum and Kew Green.
On the Sunday, the duty was operated by RF486,
seen here between workings and on display with a fire engine and
(out of shot) a group of classic cars.

Horsham
Proper green buses in the Country Area.
Newly repainted RF633 joins GS62 at Carfax.
LT's route 852 only reached Ewhurst for a few
months in the 1950s, and then only with GSs, until invaded by RFs
in 2009.
Another chance to run the 219 to Weybridge
BAC Works. Cobham Bus Museum's members' day was so
well supported that extra buses were required to ferry members to
see the new Brooklands site. Seize the moment!

The Bromley 'mini-running day' saw three red
RFs helping to move the Christmas shopping crowds on the 227.
Bluebell Railway
At the Bluebell Railway's Vintage Bus Day,
services operated from Sheffield Park to Brighton (route 20, here
being worked by an ex-Southport Corporation PD2 106), Uckfield
(ex-Southdown Queen Mary 972) and Haywards Heath. RF486 also
had a trip to the seaside in the morning.
Leatherhead
As part of CBR's Leatherhead Running Day,
Cobham Bus Museum operated STL2377 over
the full length of route 65 to Ealing
Argyle Road. A history of route 65 is here.
Conductor Graham Smith took the opportunity
to record this comparison with the modern fare on the
65. Mind you, passengers wouldn't guess from the the
ride comfort which was 72 years newer than the other.

Pevfest, Pevensey
RF486 took a trip to the seaside on 25 July
to take part in the Pevensey Festival.

East Grinstead
Contrasting styles. Southdown Queen
Mary 424 worked 'alongside' XF3 on the 409
between Godstone and Forest Row.
The 434 served the Troy Town loop. Here
RF486 works clockwise at Troy Town
bridge.

The High Street was reserved for the day as a
bus station. GSs, RFs and RTs lay over.
The Pub with No Name, Hampshire
On a private trip, despite the narrow lanes of
the area, RF486 found The Pub with No Name up on the Hampshire
Downs - well worth searching out, a really nice destination.
We then took the direct route to Selborne - try it! One of
the wider lanes allowed for a photo-stop; Dalston seems a long way
away.
